P/V valve with flame arrester - for storage tanks

Minimize VOC
To minimize VOC emissions, vapour recovery stage 1 is mandatory in most countries. One part of stage 1 is to collect the vapour from the service station into the road tanker during delivery. A pressure/vacuum (p/v) valve will prevent unnecessary VOC emissions to the atmosphere and also protect the storage tank by balancing pressure tops and drops. It is a normal safeguard measure which enhances vapour recovery.

Proven P/V valve
The Wennstrom p/v valve is a based on a patented gravity solution that enables a wide range of pressure and vacuum values, depending on the field of use and the local requirements.

Flame arrester
Ignitions sources, such as sparks caused by electrostatic discharge or lightning or mechanical knocks, in potentially explosive atmospheres can have disastrous effects.
An investment in a flame arrester is a safeguard against such an accident.
Flame arresters in accordance with EN12874 are normally required for petrol and E85 (ethanol) installations.

Cost efficient
The design of the unit and the choice of material is based on the flow rate and pressure/vacuum requirements of service station storage tanks.

This fact plus the integration of the End of Line endurance burning flame arrester with the p/v valve gives a very cost efficient solution to the safety issue and to the VOC issue.

Total risk analysis
In combination with ES118 – VR1 adaptor with flame arrester, and the HSE Interlock valve at the filling point, the storage tank will be effectively safeguarded against probable risks for explosion.
